It doesn’t take much for warriors like Ryu, Chun-Li, Mega Man, or Devil May Cry’s Dante to jump into a fight—and that’s exactly what these Capcom legends do in Teppen.
But the combat here is about cards, not kicks.
Every character has a deck, and it’s your job to carefully (and quickly) pick the right mix to whittle down your opponent’s health. Basic cards have attack, defense, and magic values, and you can only play a card once you’ve charged up enough magic points. But waiting can cost you if you’re not careful.
You’ll have to make quick tactical choices as cards duke it out on the three-by-three grid. Do you stack a card to block an attack? Or do you use your magic meter to dish out a devastating effect?
This balancing act makes every Teppen match a deliciously tense tug-of-war. And the more you play, the better your card collection will get, letting you experiment with more strategies.
From Mega Man X baddie Storm Eagle to Darkstalkers standouts Felicia and Hsien-Ko, the roster mines Capcom’s rich lore. The Scar of Humiliation card, for example, showcases the exact moment Street Fighter boss Sagat got his signature chest scar from rival Ryu. Awesome!
Teppen is more than just fan service, however. With stunning artwork and crafty strategy, this brainy brawler proves that a great fighter doesn’t only rely on their fists.
