In Frostpunk, preserving a post-apocalyptic outpost isn’t your only struggle. As you tackle this intense city-building game, you’ll wrestle with your conscience too.

Environmental catastrophes have plunged the world into an endless winter, but you’ve discovered an enormous steam furnace that can provide heat and energy for your burgeoning outpost. For the furnace to work, however, you must risk sending people out to harvest resources, then build structures to turn those resources into supplies.

Stark visuals and ominous music set the perfect tone. It’s you against the elements!

The men, women, and children who flock to your city are as crucial to you as the raw materials they harvest—and they have their own survival instincts. Enact too many unpopular decrees, for instance, and they’ll revolt. But avoiding tough calls can lead to the city’s demise.

The key to this balancing act? How you write the Book of Laws. Mandating 24-hour work shifts and soup for all meals (it feeds more folks!) may be unsavory, but it’ll get the city up and running. To keep the community going in the face of disaster, you’ll impose broader mandates that affect everything from security to how people worship.

Choose wisely and you’ll have the support of your population—and a better chance at survival for all!
