Enhance Photos With a Click

You don’t need to master Pixelmator Pro’s advanced tools to make your favorite photos look great: The app’s ML Enhance feature improves images with a single click.

Using a Core ML–powered algorithm trained on millions of professional photos, ML Enhance automatically adjusts exposure, white balance, colors, and more to bring your photo to life. And it even works in the Photos app, thanks to Pixelmator Pro’s Photos extension.

To use ML Enhance, bring up the Adjust Colors tool by pressing A (or choose Tools > Color Adjustments), then click the ML Enhance button.

Or in the Photos app, click Edit, then the Extensions button (the circle with three dots) and choose Pixelmator Pro; then follow the steps above.

ML Enhance’s changes can be eye-popping or subtle. To compare the edited version with the original, click the Show Original button.

Want to tweak the results? Click the ML button next to any group in the Color Adjustments panel—White Balance, Hue & Saturation, Lightness, Color Balance, or Selective Color—to disable its effect, or adjust the sliders to customize the result.

Pro tip: If ML Enhance makes a sunset’s glow look a bit too much like daylight, move the Temperature slider (under White Balance) to the right to restore a bit more warmth.
