Woebot is a chipper chat bot trained in cognitive behavioral therapy that aims to help you better understand woes like anger and stress. For example, if you find yourself continually experiencing anger, Woebot will ask you to pick a specific moment you felt that way, then dig into it to get to the root of the issue.

Short articles in the app can help you better understand your feelings.

Woebot initially asks you to check in daily for two weeks. (Turn on notifications to get reminders.) While you’re chatting, Woebot suggests potential responses to make sharing easier (maybe an emoji if you’re feeling happy). If you would rather type out an answer, tap the tools button at the bottom left.

Woebot lets you chat with a few taps—and keeps your conversations secure with hospital-level encryption.

There’s a lot more to do in Woebot than reflect on your feelings. In addition to a Gratitude Journal, there are articles on clinically proven techniques to reduce stress, as well as resources to help you address negativity and stay mindful for the day.
