The slyly challenging Rescue Wings! has a simple objective: Douse untamed infernos by dropping barrels of water from your aircraft—anything from prop planes to stealth bombers to UFOs.

Looking for a hotter challenge than the game’s standard levels? Try taking on Adventure mode, where you’ll try to fly as far as possible while drenching blazes.

We soared to a high score of 2,131 using the basic Flusher aircraft. If you’re having trouble staying airborne, consider these tips before hitting the runway:

Fly past four fires without dousing them and your run will go up in smoke. But don’t take unnecessary risks! If a fire is in a hard-to-reach spot, let it go. You get four misses but only one chance to crash.

If you see a difficult path ahead and need to buy yourself a few seconds, fly up while slowly accelerating to pull off a vertical loop. You’ll stall in one spot for a bit, giving you time to figure out your next move.

Adventure mode’s many branching paths are marked by cavern entrances. As intriguing as these may look, take heed before entering! They often lead to narrow underground tunnels. If you want to play it safe, stay on the main path.
