App Store Award winner Caribu makes it easy for kids to video call grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends so they can read, learn, and play together even when apart.
What we love: Keeping kids engaged and entertained on chatty video calls thanks to Caribu’s library of books and activities. Give Grandpa a ring to read classics like Thomas the Tank Engine, draw dinosaurs, or learn the ABCs together on a call.
Quick tip: If friends aren’t around for a virtual playdate, kids can watch celebrities (like Kevin Jonas or LeVar Burton) read books aloud in the Video section.
Meet the creator: Founded by former App Store Small Business Program alumni Álvaro Sabido and Maxeme Tuchman, Caribu is named after the Canadian reindeer. “We spell it in Spanish because Álvaro is from Spain and I’m Cuban,” Tuchman says. “Also, it was easier to get the Twitter handle!”
