Roblox isn’t just one experience—it’s a whole universe of them, with near-infinite opportunities to build, roam, and chat. Follow these handy hints to play like a pro.
1. Find your look
First step: Craft an avatar! Take advantage of the free models and gear in Roblox’s incredibly deep character creator to make your hero unique. A fedora-wearing knight or a pirate queen with sunglasses, perhaps? (Sort by price to bring free starter options to the top.) You can build up to 50 characters, each with their own outfits and animations, so go wild!
2. Be adventurous
Not sure where to head next? Experiences recommended by the Roblox team are on the Home and Discover screens. Or search for worlds by theme—like cars, unicorns, superheroes, you name it—and dive into the ones with high user ratings. A few of our faves: harvesting honey in Bee Swarm Simulator, delivering pies in Work at a Pizza Place, and getting all gussied up in Fashion Famous.
3. Trade wisely
When trading an item with other players, be sure to consider its rarity (indicated by color in most experiences). Even if you don’t care about an ultrarare object like Murder Mystery 2’s Bioblade, you should get something of equal value for it, not just a pile of common gear. And definitely don’t trade an object you might desperately want later. Take a breath before committing—if you’re not completely comfortable with the deal, decline it or offer something else. Trader’s remorse is real!
4. Keep the convo going
Chatting inside popular multiplayer experiences like Adopt Me and Brookhaven RP is a great way to meet other players and discuss everything from strategy to map selection. Playing with pals? On the Connect screen, use the Chats tab to start threads outside of individual experiences—perfect when you and your friends are figuring out what to play next.
5. Stick together
Want to quickly connect with buddies who are already playing? Your friends list shows which experience each person is in—just tap their name to join them there! Some experiences also let you create a private server. (To check, tap a friend’s icon next to the experience’s green play button.) If it does, you can purchase a server subscription for a few Robux and add friends to the invited-players list.
