Octane X, Now on Mac!
Octane X Classic
Fast, unbiased GPU rendering
Need some serious cinematic rendering power? Try a little Octane.
Octane X brings turbocharged, unbiased GPU production rendering to any Mac running macOS Big Sur. Or to put it more simply: Mac users can now pull off real-time, photo-realistic 3D rendering. Fast.
That means creatives in visual effects, motion graphics, gaming, design, architecture, and other fields now have access to the industry’s first spectrally correct GPU-rendering platform, including a live viewer with real-time interactive processing and effects.
And it’s all native to macOS.
This is a big step for developer OTOY, which released the world’s first unbiased GPU renderer, OctaneRender, back in 2010. The company built Octane X from the ground up for Mac, optimizing it for Apple’s Metal graphics API and the Apple M1 GPU. It also integrated plug-in support for Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Maya, Houdini, Blender, Modo, Nuke, Unreal Engine, Unity, and other 3D content-creation tools.
The Octane X app is a free download and includes all Octane X Enterprise features as well as support for the Render Network, OTOY’s cloud technology for distributing complex rendering jobs. Mac users are eligible for a free one-year subscription to Octane X Enterprise or Octane X Prime.
