Metro Exodus

View

The crumbling, post-apocalyptic world of Metro Exodus is beautiful—and dreadfully dangerous. Among the perils you’ll encounter as you traverse a nuclear-war-ravaged Russia: mutant spiders, ruthless bandits, and a savage bear the size of a minivan.

In this third chapter of the acclaimed first-person-shooter series, you return as the quiet hero Artyom. Instead of sneaking through claustrophobic subway tunnels, you and your allies board a ramshackle locomotive in search of a safer home.

The view from a distance obscures the mutated creatures and paranormal perils that lurk below.

You’ll cross breathtaking open-world landscapes, from the frigid wastelands outside Moscow to the lush forests of East Siberia. Along the way, you’ll do whatever it takes to ensure the train’s safety—and your own survival. That includes scavenging for new weapons and equipment, like a motion sensor for pinpointing danger (human or otherwise).

The game’s world-building element is as stunning as its visuals, whether you’re exploring the remains of cargo ships in the dried-up Caspian Sea or learning about the uneasy peace between two forest-dwelling tribes. (Fear not, fans of previous Metro games—there are plenty of the dark, stealthy sequences that are the series’ hallmark.)

When you’re not fighting monsters and miscreants, quiet moments on the train give Artyom a chance to reconnect with his wife and bond with his fellow soldiers. Linger awhile before the next mission and you’ll be rewarded with your motley crew’s heartwarming (and heartrending) backstory.

Exhilarating, fascinating, and sometimes terrifying, Metro Exodus is an unforgettable journey into a vast unknown. It’s a trip well worth embarking on—gigantic bears and all.
