Break out the biscuits! Ted Lasso season 2 is now streaming on Apple TV+.

When we last left Coach Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) and his fledgling soccer team, they were relegated to a lower division and suffering the loss of two of their best players: aging legend Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and arrogant rising star Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster). As season 2 begins, Ted must figure out how to turn things around.

To prepare for the 12 episodes of season 2, we’ll temporarily set aside Coach Lasso’s “be a goldfish” mantra and look back at some of season 1’s most meaningful moments and characters, including team owner/surprisingly good karaoke singer Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and model turned team PR guru Keeley Jones (Juno Temple). Spoilers follow!

Episode 1: “Smells like potential”

Fresh off the plane from Kansas City, Coach Lasso arrives at the headquarters of AFC Richmond, a struggling team trying to find its footing. Ted gets a pretty cold welcome—probably because he doesn’t know the first thing about British football. But his unfailing kindness and quick wit are on display from day one, when he walks into the locker room and declares that “it smells like potential.”

Episode 2: The biscuit reveal

Ted tries to endear himself to Rebecca through a daily delivery of biscuits from what he says is a local bakery. In episode 2, we learn Ted is baking the biscuits himself, which turns out to be the first step in changing his relationship with Rebecca—and with the team.

Episode 5: Rebecca offers Keeley a job

Rebecca and Keeley are both reeling from relationship problems—Rebecca with her irritating ex-husband, Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), and Keeley with her ever-insufferable ex Jamie. Sensing Keeley’s work ethic, Rebecca offers her a job in the PR department—one that’ll bring her closer to the entire team (including Roy).

Episode 7: The team chant

All year long, Nate (Nick Mohammed) has been a timid presence in the locker room, the mild-mannered equipment guy just happy to be there. But that changes when Ted has him read aloud what he thinks of the team—a legendary roasting that spares no one, not even Ted. But the gambit pays off: Nate’s bravery and honesty propel Richmond to a once-in-a-lifetime win.

Episode 8: Barbecue sauce

In maybe the season’s most moving scene, Ted challenges Rupert to a game of darts, with the stipulation that if Ted wins, Rupert has to stay out of the owner’s box at AFC Richmond. Figuring Ted to be an easy mark, Rupert accepts—and promptly learns that despite his easygoing exterior, Ted is not to be underestimated.

Episode 10: The end of the season

In the season 1 finale, AFC Richmond is relegated to the lower division. Defeated, Ted attempts to tender his resignation to Rebecca, which she refuses. As season 2 opens, AFC Richmond is in relegation—and without both Jamie and Roy—but at least Ted and Rebecca are finally on the same team.
