Click Smart Scan and the app looks for potentially unneeded files—such as old caches and logs and ancient email attachments—and also scans for malware. (You can review any suggested removals before they’re deleted.) Or click Uninstaller to see apps you haven’t used in months, then choose whether to remove them along with their support files.
Quick tip: The app’s Large & Old Files scan lets you quickly find large videos, installers, project files, and more that you haven’t touched in a while—and optionally delete them or move them to a different location (such as an external drive). And the Assistant button gives you targeted suggestions, like removing apps that are no longer compatible with your Mac.
