You don’t need separate apps to use your favorite video services on your Mac. Friendly Streaming Browser puts all those services in one place, with tools and features optimized for watching video.
What we love: How convenient it is to watch movies and shows right on your Mac. For each streaming service you use, click the Add button, pick the service, and enter your login info; those services are then listed on your Channels dashboard. (The app includes shortcuts for dozens of services, where available—everything from Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu to Pluto, Fubo, and Kanopy—and you can add any other service by entering its URL.) Simply click a service in Channels to watch.
Quick tip: While viewing a video, you can adjust playback speed, brightness, saturation, contrast; switch to picture-in-picture mode to watch while doing other things on your Mac; and even add transparency so you can see what’s behind the video. You can also save movies and shows you want to watch to the My Streaming dashboard, giving you a single watch list across services.
Meet the creator: Friendly App Studio is a team of four working remotely from California and Texas. Friendly Streaming Browser originally worked only as a standard window, but the company added picture-in-picture mode when cofounder Cyril Moutran wanted to watch multiple soccer matches at the same time.
