Whether you’re looking for “the one” or just someone to explore a new city with, Tinder’s Passport feature can help you connect with people all over the world.

To use Passport, just head to the app’s settings and select Get Passport, then search for a city to start matching with people who live there.

Passport is your first-class ticket to memorable destination dates.

We spoke to Hillary Paine, Tinder’s vice president of product, for insider tips on making the most of Passport.

Enliven your work trips

“If you see yourself using it for work travel, I definitely recommend a subscription,” Paine says. “When I was single, I used it when I was traveling for work to New York, Austin, and Seattle,” she adds. “It was a great way to make plans in advance of my trip.”

Get a head start

Start swiping before you arrive at your destination, suggests Paine. By breaking the ice early, you’ll spend less time on small talk so you can jump into new experiences sooner.

Share the details

Paine suggests solo travelers pair Passport mode with the Share My Date feature, which sends the location and time of your date (along with a photo of your match) to friends and family. “You feel a bit of extra support with your wingmates back home knowing where you are,” Paine says.

Test the waters

Passport is helpful closer to home too. “A lot of people who are considering moving to a new place use Passport to see what it would be like,” Paine says. This tip is great for college students heading to a new town too!
