Perplexing puzzles power Teslagrad’s electric tale.

Teslagrad

A hand-drawn magnetic puzzle

View

Some of the best stories are told with the fewest words. Teslagrad serves as a stunning reminder of this—and it also happens to be a very fine puzzle game.

Play with electricity to solve Teslagrad’s puzzles.

On a rainy evening, a boy races across rooftops with burly guards hot on his heels, taking refuge in an old castle. The drawbridge rises to keep out his pursuers, and the game begins.

Within the crumbling confines of this Tesla Tower, you’ll find an array of advanced electromagnetic technology. Harnessing electrical power with a mysterious gauntlet, you set out solve devious puzzles that toy with magnetism. Blue objects are drawn to red and vice versa, while same colors repel one another.

The castle is home to all sorts of oddities—and beautiful works of art.

Teslagrad builds some fiendish challenges around this simple idea: Touching scuttling spider bots gives the boy an aura he can use to float through energy waves. Seemingly static floors turn into moving platforms. You’ll need all your wits to avoid the deadly electrical fields and defeat the imposing bosses.

With its carefully crafted animations and hand-painted backgrounds, Teslagrad is a true tour de force. Our advice? Don’t try to resist it.
