The turn-based strategy gem Raiders of the North Sea flawlessly digitizes the board game of the same name, fearsome beards and all.
As an ambitious Viking, your goal is to impress the village chieftain by raiding nearby settlements for livestock, iron, and gold. That requires strategically placing workers and building a crew. Gravediggers, berserkers, and other villagers grant sweet bonuses (the huntsman is great for gathering resources)—and might even join your crew in glorious battle.
Success is a fine balancing act, as you manage harvesting resources, recruiting warriors, and raiding harbors and fortresses. Who knew Vikings had so many decisions to make? From its meaty campaign to its multiplayer options (including a pass-the-device mode that lets you do your trash-talking in person), Raiders of the North Sea is a feast of fun. Get out there and make the chieftain proud!
