Mars: Mars

Space adventure game

View

In Mars: Mars, you’re an explorer with a jetpack on a mission to explore the Red Planet, blasting from platform to platform—which is trickier than it might sound. You’ll need to manage your limited fuel, and if you tilt to the left or right a bit too much…boom!

“We wanted to reinvent a game from the golden age of the arcades—Lunar Lander—to a mobile version for young audiences,” says Federico Romero, CEO and cofounder of Uruguayan studio Pomelo Games.

Land exactly on the next platform if you don’t want to explode. Who knew the environment of Mars would be so wacky?

As you make your way across the Martian landscape, there will be new explorers for you to choose from. Arnold (a parody of Total Recall’s hero) will turn the whole planet an intense red, while Marcel, who evokes a French mime, will turn the backdrop Parisian.

To really go out there, select Nosferatu, who flaps wings to take flight (and requires you to be very accurate with your taps). Or become Ovni, who abducts cows (yes, on Mars).

This fun space adventure is all about precision. Some players have reached over 1,000 jumps without crashing. Others have written to Pomelo studio to ask whether the game has an ending.

Few know the answer, but keep this hint in mind: It seems there is water on Mars!
