If you’re thinking of going back to college, never went in the first place, or just want to take some career-advancing courses, Coursera offers classes, certificates, and even degree programs in more than 10 compelling subjects from business to the sciences.
Launched in 2012, Coursera has since developed partnerships with more than 150 universities in 29 countries, offering more than 2,700 courses from schools as prestigious as Stanford, Duke, and Yale. Not only can you learn different languages at different levels in Coursera, but the app also teaches in several languages.
The app’s complete catalog is presented on the Explore tab. The options are so endless that it can feel a bit overwhelming. Luckily there’s a search bar at the top to help you narrow down what you’re looking for. School, of course, can be pricey, but with Coursera, you can actually do a lot without having to pay a cent. Free courses give you access to video lectures, homework exercises, and forums to interact with your peers. Paid courses provide additional quizzes and projects as well as an award certificate upon completion.
Coursera boasts single courses in addition to specializations, which bundle several courses together. There are even master’s degrees in business, computer science, data science, and public health.
