Coursera: Grow your career

Courses, certificates, degrees

View

Thanks to its partnership with more than 200 universities around the world, Coursera offers free online classes, certificates, and degree programs in subjects ranging from data science and information technology to arts and humanities.

What we love: Enroll in the popular Science of Well-Being course from Yale, dive into Data Science at Johns Hopkins University, or immerse yourself in Python programming at the University of Michigan. Free courses give you access to video lectures, homework exercises, and forums to interact with your classmates. Paid courses may provide a certificate upon completion.

Browse the app’s extensive course catalog on the Explore tab.

Quick tip: To import your course deadlines into your calendar, open the Settings menu and select “Sync to my calendar.”

Meet the creator: Stanford University computer science professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller cofounded Coursera in 2012 as a platform for massive open online courses (MOOCs). The idea sprang from Ng’s online machine-learning class, in which over 100,000 students were enrolled.
