Maybe the best of its kind.

review edit: I am changing from 3 (ok) to 5 (excellent). Developer kindly responded me that I missed a feature ¨favorite folders¨ which is cool to isolate any folder and repeat the cleaning task in a smart and personalized way.
It’s also a fast & beautiful app. Made with love.

Original review:
Fast and beautiful but requires manual and individual deleting.
It’s not a cleaner and optimizing tool, as advertised by reviewers.
I purchased, downloaded and installed this tool after reading a couple of reviews like 10 Best Mac Cleaner Software to Optimize your Mac.
It doesn’t scan and isolate common space wasters like caches and tmp folders from Adobe, Chrome, Google Earth and more typical folders. You will have to locate them yourself.
So you will have to navigate deep on each folder (assuming that you know which folders are and remember where are them) and then do the delete manually.
It doesn't have shortcuts or possibility to ad this common folders to someplace handy.
It's not in the category of let's say CCleaner or Diskclean, it's more like Disk Inventory X. A tree map with manual deleting of files and folders.
Having this said, may be the best on its category, disk visual map.
My 3 stars rating corresponds to an IT’S OK rate so under no circumstances I am saying it’s bad. With a couple of clever features would be 5 stars immediately.
My bad was to go to app store, where buying is the only option.
I suggest to try the free trial option in their website to see if it fits your needs.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your feedback! I'm sorry that you've been misled by some reviewers that DaisyDisk was a cleaner software. In fact, we never positioned our app as a cleaner, and to be honest, we don't hold much belief in the automated cleaner tools. MacOS and the apps are typically pretty good in doing their own maintenance automatically, without user intervention (unless something is not working normally), like cleaning their own caches etc. The idea of DaisyDisk is that it shows you the *ACTUAL* big files on your disk. You don't have to remember the paths to the caches – if they grow big, you will instantly notice them on the map. And if they are not big, why should you care about them in the first place? :) Also please note that DaisyDisk does have the feature to save shortcuts to the folders you want to scan often: please use the Scan Folder button and then click the star ("favorite") button on the left of the disk name.
