Description

In flight, Xavion constantly imagines engine-failed glides to every runway in gliding range, and then shows you the safest-possible route as a Highway-In-The-Sky to take to an airport in the event of engine failure. This, finally, gives you guidance after an engine failure that is based on energy-management all the way down, where the computer does the glide-planning for you… you just fly through the hoops to the runway. Xavion also has instrument approaches in 3-D for the United States, so you can simply select any approach and then fly through the hoops to fly it!

As well, Xavion tracks other airplanes via ADS-B, and memorizes their location to track their WAKE TURBULENCE, moving the wake turbulence down and with the wind over time, showing the wake turbulence as little spiraling tornados. Finally, an App that tracks and shows you the wake turbulence of other airplanes.

As well, Xavion gets ADS-B weather if you have a portable receiver, and displays it, including the new icing, turbulence, and lightning products. Xavion also gets METARS and winds aloft from the internet if you have a WIFI or cell signal to help you plan before a flight!

Also, Xavion checks your weight and balance, and even estimates your takeoff distance and compares that to the length of the runway that you are about to take off on to warn you if the available runway length from your current location is marginal for a safe take-off.

Also, Xavion estimates time and fuel burn at all different altitudes to any destination, showing you the time and fuel burn required for each altitude enroute, so you can pick the best altitude.

Xavion, and Xavion alone in the sky, gives engine-failure guidance and wake-turbulence avoidance.

All USA VFR and IFR charts and plates are included with base subscription.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

What’s New

Version 3.41

Xavion has always given red-alert terrain and obstacle warnings,
but now we give an advance yellow-alert warning as well, about 200 miles out,
if the HOOPS you are flying are going to intersect terrain or obstacles.

This gives you time to PLAN to enter higher enroute altitude with a yellow-alert,
and gives URGENT notice for maneuvering with a red-alert.

Tests and suggestions

First i want tho congratulation all the staff on the app desenvolvement, it's a really big step on GA app, and of course a great saffety soft!

Sorry for my poor english, thanks for gogle translator hahaha

I have made several test using Xavion, the app is excellent, with a good confidence but whitout mention than this is a cellphone app, not a aviation gps so there is some times i lost AHRS, GPS or even a crash of the program, not incomum for a new software.

If possible i want to send some ideas for the nexts updates based on my low experience in flight.
Based on the ideia than the bigger potencial of this is a software for help emergency or incomum situation (like a aid IMC for non-precision IFR aproach or even VMC at night on a farway from city airports)

-A HSI on mag heading indicator, with CDI scale configuration and maybe a VNAV profile indicator ( i use this feature on a garmin 695, configuring a waypoint on the center of runway, the VNAV profile on 500ft/min , 0 nm for the waypoint and 0 feet AGL. After that i set the OBS AND HOLD of gps for the runway heading, making like this a excellent aid for low visibility aproach)

-On same line of first suggestion, maybe a HITS implement for aproach, not in emergency botton but in normal descent rate, selectable, and heading from RWY setting.

- GO AROUND button, for select a pich of go around and reading or waypoint HITS for initial missed aproach procedment.

-Automatic callout off altitude from ground, like "500, 400, 300 and 200 feet"

- Possibility of zoom in (at least on iphone) of synthetic vision.( for ground clearence, or obtacle clearence the distance is perfect, but for aproach, the runway just become realiby on a really low distance and altitude, about 200 feetAGL and 2 NM ( Vapp of 100Kt)

- More features for weather setting, ( on Brazil we dont have NEXRAD, XM Weather, or ADS service so we have to put all data of indicaded air speed, temperature, idicaded altitude and altimeter setting in GPS weather calculator to get the TAS, direction an speed of wind, and after enter this data, have the vector of wind like already exist could be a very nice feature on aproach)

One more time i made the recomendation for any GA pilot, professional or not, its a MUST HAVE IN COCKPIT app
