Tame your Twitter timeline
Twitterrific puts you in control.
Twitterrific: Tweet Your Way
Tweet on your own terms.
Twitterrific, the first Twitter app ever released for Mac, is still one of the best ways to handle the deluge of posts, replies and mentions the social media network unleashes on you each day, meaning you can stay productive on your Mac.
One of the most powerful features, called Muffles, allows you to hide tweets based on specific criteria. For instance, muffle tweets from a particular user or a keyword related to your favourite TV show (helpful if you missed the finale and don’t want to stumble across any spoilers).
Less drastic than muting, Muffles keep tweets sectioned off in a single line of your timeline. You can always read them if you want, but they’ll be hidden away until you’re ready to see them.
Twitterrific also gives you more control over your notifications. It integrates with your Mac’s built-in Notification Centre so you can customise the alerts in your macOS System Preferences and stay as up to date as you want to be.
And the app also gives your timeline an easy-on-the-eyes refresh. It colour codes tweets by type (making your tweets green, direct messages blue, mentions brown and @ replies orange). You can pick a font and text size that suits you too.
Other conveniences include the ability to browse multiple timelines at once, syncing among your Mac, iPhone and iPad (so you can pick up reading exactly where you left off), and a plethora of keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation. Quite simply, Twitterrific puts the terrific in your Twitter experience.
