With hundreds of guided meditations for you to listen to, the Headspace app is a simple way to bring a bit of calm and wellness into your day.

Headspace groups its meditations into courses, and each course addresses a topic you might be facing – whether good or bad or simply neutral. Find courses on planning, creativity, personal growth, insecurity, coping with cravings or managing conflict.

There are courses for runners, for students, for kids, courses on falling asleep and, yes, even on waking up. There’s almost certainly a course or 10 in Headspace for you.

Headspace is not only helpful but also thoughtfully designed.

With each session, you’ll progress through a journey that will teach you meditation techniques and help frame your thinking, so you can home in on what personally matters most.

The best place to start is with the app’s Basics course, which teaches both how and why to meditate while explaining the benefits of regular practice. The 10-session Basics is free, and you decide how long each session lasts (from three to 10 minutes). Beyond that, Headspace’s guided meditations require a subscription.

Subscribers gain access to the app’s full library of courses, plus dozens of one-off meditation sessions and great on-the-go exercises. SOS sessions, for example, can help manage moments of panic or anxiety if they ever arise. The Everyday Headspace section offers meditations on new topics each day – making it easy to explore if you’re not sure where to go after the Basics course.

Headspace tracks your progress, with stats on how much time you’ve spent meditating as well as how many sessions and courses you’ve completed. The app also syncs with Apple Health to make every minute spent meditating count toward any mindful-minutes goal you have.
