Description
Helping young people find mental health support
Afloat is a free app that helps you find mental health services and support. If you or someone you know needs help, whether urgent or not, you can find information easily.
Features include:
Information about mental wellbeing and specific mental health issues
Links to personal stories and testimonies from young people who found their way through available services
Ways to find support for mental health issues including information about mental health services that suit you: NHS, public, private and charities
Information about services nearby provided by the Anna Freud Centre
Online support resources, including websites, forums, other useful apps and online help
The option to seek urgent help using the information and contacts available, including main helplines.
Afloat was developed at the London School of Economics and Political Science with the help of young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have experience of mental health problems and using services. Some of their personal stories are included in the app.
