Description

Gorogoa is an elegant evolution of the puzzle genre, told through a beautifully hand-drawn story designed and illustrated by Jason Roberts.

UNIQUELY IMAGINATIVE PUZZLES
The gameplay of Gorogoa is wholly original, comprised of lavishly illustrated panels that players arrange and combine in imaginative ways to solve puzzles. Impeccably simple, yet satisfyingly complex.

GORGEOUSLY HAND-DRAWN GAMEPLAY
Jason Roberts created thousands of meticulously detailed hand-drawn illustrations, encompassing the impressive scope of Gorogoa's personal narrative.

A NEW KIND OF STORYTELLING
Gorogoa isn't just a game - it's a work of art, expressing itself through soulful, charming illustrations and distinguished puzzle mechanics.

Editors’ Notes

You might get stuck the first time you play Gorogoa. But once the gears of your brain settle into the right configurations, you’ll see how smart this mix of art and perspective really is. Layers pile upon layers, doors transport you between realities, strange creatures and wild environments blend together into a fascinating interactive collage you’ll want to peel apart to discover what lies underneath.

Excellent idea, but poor execution

The game itself is very creative but most of the time, I find the controls unintuitive and hard to see/look/appreciate whatever was on the screen because it was too small! (I played the game on my iPhone 6). I had to squint all the time and it’s annoying, plus I didn’t know to double click on a frame to enlarge it (no instructions given whatsoever, if the developer intends for me to find it out myself, it didn’t work). Even after I have figured out that it needs a double click, it still was too annoying to double click on a different frame every time the scene changes. The images after enlarging by double clicking were of low quality and I had to squint even harder to make out the details and discern which was which. Aside from the extreme squinting and the click-here-double-click-there-click-where chaos, the idea was good. Now only if the developer would fine-tune the controls a little bit and adjust for bigger frames (more HD images) or something, perfect!
