Feel like professional sailor and have your navigational data available right at your wrist. The display is optimized, showing large signs to read the data with a brief look while you are in action on your boat.
You can record your track and analyse your maneuvers like tacks and gybes. Send gpx files as email to friends, or show your track on a map.

From iPhone 7 and newer, the iPhones come with an IP67 rating that makes them “splash“ resistant.
For non IP67 devices, usage of waterproof case is recommended at water.

Location updates are optimized to minimize energy consumption. It is possible to run the app for up to 6 hours without charging. For longer trips I recommend the usage of a small power bank.

VelocitySail reads your gps positions while the app is in use.
The gpx file which is written by the app is anonymized and does not contain any other data from your device beside the logged locations.
