When your child enters the world of DC Super Hero Girls Blitz, they’ll join a super cool crew of female heroes like Batgirl and Bumblebee who are busy doing superhero things – while also keeping up with their regular teenage lives.
The gameplay consists of a kind of hero bootcamp, with real-world activities mixed in. So in between quick rounds of springing over rooftops to defeat bad guys, speeding up stairs to diffuse bombs, remembering secret codes and flying through a maze of deadly vines, they’ll be doing homework games and trying to remember what toppings to put on a pizza at the fast food joint where Batgirl works.
If it sounds like a lot to fit in, that’s because it is – hero life quickly gets hectic as each round becomes faster and faster. But for every challenge your child completes on time, they’ll get an emphatic “Yeah!” from their fellow heroes and earn some stars.
Complete enough rounds and they’ll get a comic book that unlocks a new minigame – say, racing against Superman to see who’s faster or even rocking out on a guitar. And they can use the stars they earn to unlock fun surprises that will furnish their hideout, like a bat computer station or a scooter.
While they’ll have access to several superhero minigames right away, unlocking Supergirl, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Zatanna requires an in-app purchase (and parental permission). Before they know it, that quiet superhero hideout will become a happening hang-out for the whole gang!
