Do you remember sliding tile games? All you needed to do was get all the tiles in the right place by moving them one at a time, but they turned out to be far more challenging than expected.
Well, In The Dog House takes that same mechanic and adds a cute dog.
It’s a game that’s all about getting your dog – and its bone or squeaky toy – from A to B. Filled with a series of gloriously pixelated interiors, all you need to do is rearrange them so there’s a clear path for your pup.
To begin with that path is just a corridor, but as you play you’ll begin to use doors, stairs and lifts.
To make things more interesting, each room has its own rules: some tiles can be moved in any direction, while others can’t be moved at all. Some tiles even contain lifts that need to be put in the right place or they won’t work.
A gentle and charming game with some fun flourishes and cute animation, In The Dog House packs more than fifty puzzles of increasing fiendishness. While the difficulty does increase, you’re not going to find yourself yelling “bad dog!” at your device.
There are lots of different dogs to unlock, and accessing these mutts doesn’t even require a – wait for it – in-app pooch-ase. Arf!
