This app contains a separate section on Reconstruction, covering major event from the end of the Civil War up until 1879, when Reconstruction of the South came to an end, and second separate section on Industrialization that chronicles the major events 1879 to the end of the 19th century. This was a period of great change in the United States, when the Union transformed itself into a country that spanned North America and became an industrial powerhouse. It was a period of numerous inventions and significant scientific advances.
