Description

The 2500 search and rescue volunteers of British Columbia train for 10,000’s of hours each year in the latest techniques employed in search and rescue and this SAR Field Guide app will back up that training as an aide memoire to all the knowledge, techniques and guidelines that the volunteers are expected to know and regularly train in to remain current and safe.

The SAR Field Guide app will provide our volunteers with the latest provincial guidelines to ensure they are operating within the bounds of the latest safety policies and practices.

The world of search and rescue does not stand still and the policies and practices are constantly being reviewed, refined and updated to improve the safety of our volunteers. The SAR Field Guide app is another tool BCSARA can use to efficiently communicate updates to the safety policies and practices to our volunteers.

Search and Rescue tasks often take place in the backcountry and away from cell coverage and with no access to the internet. The SAR Field Guide app has been designed to operate offline from the internet providing volunteers access to the information they need to do their jobs anywhere in the province at any time of day.
