The basic principle of the hydraulic press is based on Pascal's law.
Pascal's law is a principle in fluid mechanics that states a pressure change occurring anywhere in a confined, incompressible fluid is transmitted throughout the fluid, causing the same change everywhere. Pascal's principle is used in many hydraulic systems, such as hydraulic presses.
