Call on Chord Tracker when you want to learn the chords of the songs you love, or if you want to practise guitar accompaniment to match the song. The app analyses the audio files on your iPhone or iPad and displays the chord progressions to the song.
Open the app and select Music on the home screen to display a list of songs included in your library. Choose one and the app will automatically analyse and display similar chords.
Tap Play at the top of the screen to start the song, and follow the white bar that moves along the chord progression chart.
You can also change how the chords are displayed: for example, selecting Full Screen lets you see multiple chords at once, while Staff Notation will show you the notes on a traditional staff. You can also select Keyboard or Guitar to show you which keys or strings to play on those instruments.
When you first start playing a new song, you might want to slow down the tempo until you get the hang of the chord progression. You can adjust the tempo and volume under Play Settings, and turn on Melody Suppressor to hear the sound of other instruments more clearly.
Next time you’re listening to your favourite tune, you’ll be able to join in and play.
