Among our favourite childhood cartoons, Captain Tsubasa stands out as a true champ. Beyond his Drive Shot and other amazing football skills, the most relatable part of the story is how hero Tsubasa Ozora pursued his dreams.

Tsubasa loved football since he was little. With former Brazilian national team player Roberto Hongo as his mentor, Tsubara played for Nankatsu Elementary before eventually making his way internationally – all the way to the Olympics.

But what sets Tsubasa apart is his passion. He believes the game isn’t over until the final whistle blows. A single game would last multiple episodes, every moment more intense than the next. However, it was Tsubasa’s grit and determination to win that really kept us glued to the screen.

Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team’s gameplay borrows from the Nintendo FC version for the iPhone and iPad. As the name suggests, you can collect classic characters and other football stars to build your own dream team, just like Tsubasa in the anime series, only with more combinations and possibilities.

Each player card has a level associated with it. Your goal is to train them so they reach the top UR level (must be reached through the SSR level). In addition, many players have unique hidden skills to improve team performance that can be unlocked if arranged in the right combination, so team management is an important part of the game.

During match play, the game turns into an RPG. Every decision you make impacts the game’s outcome. Should Tsubasa pass or take a Drive Shot? It’s up to you.

The game kicks up the nostalgia a notch by animating each special skill with scenes from the anime series. Were you a fan of the original storyline? Try Story Mode to play out many classic scenes. You can also take on other players in League Mode or Online Mode to really see if your team has what dreams are made of.
