Almost fantastic

Love the concept of Bank Zero, the low fees and the ‘friend’ function. Opening my account was fairly painless, except for being allowed to continue to the ‘recovery contact’ screen while there was still a problem with my address selection and then not being able to finalise the account creation without resorting to Whatsapp help - which is fantastic by the way. My wife’s green ID book, as proof of FICA, which was also rejected was also resolved via Whatsapp. Would love an ‘automatic biometric authentication’ without having to click on the button every time.

OTP error - Be Warned - Outdated App

with the app installed, we cannot get past the second screen where you have to type the OTP received to your cell number in order to continue. Despite uninstalling the app, reinstalling the app. ZERO success. It seems ZERO are struggling with South African cellular carriers, and cellphone tower access. Perhaps because they are only a online bank, with no actual address to visit, or person to call. I have logged many support calls via email, and it seems only one person per day during office hours responds with a general reply. If this is how it's going with a standard app install, what will happen if you have a real issue with real money? Where do you go? Who do you call? Only during office hours? online banks should have 24/7 support. I would not feel comfortable trusting them with my heard earned cash. A real bank with real staff, in a real building, still holds value to me. Others might be happy with this system, and good for them. PS: I read through the reviews. It seems they've had this problem with OTP already 2 years ago, and the give the same copy and paste general response. Beware of this out of dat under developed ZERO use and ZERO response app

And although we don't force our clients into branches or buildings, we do have convenient support straight from your phone Mon - Fri 08:00 AM - 21:00 PM, and Weekends and Public Holidays 08:00 AM - 17:00 PM. Unfortunately it's not 24/7, as we take a quality of quaintly approach. Great offering and quick support when needed

I’m a big fan of the Bank Zero offering and have been a customer/user since it launched its beta version. The app download and sign up process was simple (I’m not super tech savvy by any stretch of the imagination - but followed the instructions when downloading and setting things up, and I managed just fine.) LOVE that I don’t have to step foot in a branch to do anything banking-related - everything done via the app (so simple and incredibly convenient) and I can add as many new accounts and/or savings pockets as I can, whenever I want. Any time I’ve had any questions or needed assistance with anything, the support team (on email and Twitter DM) has always been super friendly and quick to respond and resolve my query.
