Version 2.13.2
BeReal is adding two new features aimed at creating more ways for you to share moments with the people you care about the most:
- Roulette: An extra BeReal every day but this time using photos from your camera roll. Are you brave enough to spin the wheel and see what memory pops up? Take a chance on your past with Roulette but don’t forget to show us your reaction with the front facing camera!!
- Events: Find and join events on BeReal to see content you won’t get anywhere else including exclusive behind-the-scenes and on-stage BeReals from your favourite RealPeople/RealBrands. Share your own event moments - whether you are there or watching from a distance - and you may be included in our official wrap-up video.
- Lots of little updates to make sure your BeReal experience is always the best it can be.

Editors’ Notes
For its millions of users, seeing and being seen on BeReal is a comfort. Its photo-only feed gives an authentic glimpse of what the people you care about most are experiencing as they go about their day. The app’s simplicity reintroduces what feels like a novel idea: a realistic glimpse into what your friends are doing, seeing, and experiencing.
Its getting worse
I always really liked BeReal for all the reasons everyone else mentioned, but I feel like its getting worse. This latest version isn’t even properly compatible with iphone 8, which means that those of us who can’t afford the newest tech on the market have to see all other BeReals with a super zoomed in screen and the sides cut off.
This competition is also quite disappointing. They’re looking for the “realest person on earth”, but you can only enter if you have Instagram or Twitter?? So those who don’t partake i other forms of social media are immediately disqualified.
Bugs
I have had be real for over a year now. I love the app and I love the fact that I can get photos of my friends and myself out in situations that i normally wouldn’t.I’ve also found I’m not taking as many selfies and using these as more in the moment photos showing who I am in a more personal manner. With this being said, the new update has messed up everything. Since the new feature to take two extra be reals if it’s posted on time, the app has been bugging. Sometimes it takes a photo or takes too long to load. Other times it will say it hasn’t taken I’ll take a photo and that’s the second be real gone. as much as I think this feature is very cool and means you have more opportunities to take be reals, i’d rather get rid of the two extra ones if I can’t even get in on time post.
I sent a message on TikTok too but I really hope this gets sorted because this really is a cool app.
