I booked my flight from JHB-LDN-NY three months in advance but were not able to cash avios points in order to upgrade to Business

Tomorrow i start the vert long journey back home as a silver card holder, sitting in premium because no business seats are ‘available as upgrades’

I am not very impressed by this application of the rules - it may be time to start supporting other airlines that will actually allow me to leverage my loyalty!

Despite numerous attempts, we could not check in online, for out return journey. The app just advised that we “go to the airport to check in”, and gave no reason or alternative. Trying the online chat proved fruitless. We went to Warsaw airport 6 hours before departure to use the self help check in, no luck. The kiosk scanned our passports but for some reason could not scan the transit Visa and the result was. “We are unable to complete check-in, please seek assistance” We asked around for such assistance from BA but was advised that such a service is not available and that we would have to wait till 2 hours before departure for physical check in. Although we were first in the check in line, my wife and I have to sit separately on the long London to JHB leg. Add to this your ridiculous requirement for an expensive airside transit visa (which was not disclosed when we bought the ticket) and which caused a lot of distress (and additional expense) to obtain once we (accidentally) found out about it of rom the polish embassy. Needless to say, that given our experience, we would probably never fly with British Airways again and we would go out of our way to tell all and sundry about it warning them to not make the same mistake.

1. I want to be able to put my boarding pass in my Apple wallet or I want it watsapped to me, then I can access it quickly and easily.
2. Navigation on the app is comprehensive and confusing. Clever people struggle with comprehensive. For instance- “how many bags do you want to check in?” - Does this question include my hand luggage? Or is it actual baggage check-in at the check-in counter? Doe it exclude or include hand luggage? Or is it all the bags (laptop and hand-luggage size suitcase) that I intent to take into the plain with me? When I click on info, so much information pops up, It confuses me even more…
If I indicate here than I want to check in one bag, and you actually meant I should then check it in at the check-in counter, will you allow me to still take my suitcase as hand luggage because I misunderstood your comprehensive confusing information?

I don’t like Saffair, at all, but I LOVE their app and online check-in procedure: clear and simple (is kind 😊). Tip: Go check it out.

I love flying on your plain thought, that is still a good experience. 👌🏼

But please, be kind and simplify your online check-in procedure… 😃
