Good app.
I have been using this app for almost 2 years now and it really is good it does what it is supposed to. However on multiple occasions I have received damaged items (chicken with open package which leaked everywhere in my house which could cause salmonella, etc). and yes you can request credit on them but this doesn’t fix the problem. I order groceries online since I do not have transport and every time an item comes damaged or open I can’t order a new item with the money that has been compensated since its only like R50 at a time and that is not enough for a whole order or my inconvenience. I hope that you guys can start instructing the packers to ensure items are within good quality and any damaged items to be sent back to the manufacturer or for you guys to pay for a new one as I am paying for my items but they come damaged and a compensation isn’t enough I would just like my items to arrive in good condition as I can not just drive to checkers myself, if I could do that I would have not ordered in the first place.
Besides that the app is buggy sometimes but it is understandable so no complaints there and I have never encountered a rude driver. 🙌

Search Function and Delivery Drivers
Except for what I’m about to mention, I have no complaints about the app or the service. Customer service are also incredibly helpful and nice.
The search function often will bring up unrelated items only to find the more relevant ones somewhere down the line. This includes groceries and brands. When it comes to choosing an alternative, most of the time the alternative is either closer to or exactly what I was looking for or it shows a cheaper option. Neither of which came up when searched for.
The delivery drivers are the worst experience. I could have multiple bags but even 5 steps to my front door, they aren’t willing to help, even if they see me struggling and having to make more than two trips to and from my front door. If I do ask for help they often will only bring it half way which defeats the purpose of help. They’re also usually in a bad mood, stand offish and rude. I’m generally quite a good tipper but I’m not going to go out of my way to tip 15-20% to someone who clearly hates their job and is unhelpful. Unlike drivers for Butlers Pizza for example, who are friendly and approachable, Checkers drivers create an unpleasant exchange. It’s ironic actually.

Bugs galore. You can do better.
I have been using your app for the past few weeks. On multiple occasions your app has frozen during checkout or when selecting an alternative. Today I placed an order to be notified that I need to select an alternative. I could not select anything cause the buttons would not respond. I closed the app reopened and tried again with no success. In the end the groceries were not bought as the time ran out. During that period I tried to log an issue, but again issues were not being submitted. Also when selecting from your cart an alternative and navigating to more items/search. It does not select the item I searched for, but instead adds it to the cart as a new item. This has happened twice before. And you can imagine how frustrating that is when you get another product which you wanted as a replacement for the first. It’s a great app. But you need to iron out these hidden bugs in your product if you’d like to offer great UX for your users. I know the Product and Dev team of Checkers can do much better.
After writing out this whole review. I opened the app again to see I was logged out. The forget password journey isn’t working as I can’t get past the Enter your email screen. I am receiving the email to reset, but unable to proceed. Frustrating!
