More expensive than car payments.
Previous purchase system gave you options purchase single items, not a subscription.

Today we have more than 200 sound packs. We continue to add new sound packs regularly. To try them all with a one-time price requires a big one-time payment. With a subscription, it's possible to try them all just for few dollars. Of course, there is a lot of free sound packs in the app: those that were free are still free and we add new free sounds as well.
Besides you can get access to the Premium packs for watching ads without buying a subscription at all.
Our team is constantly working on new collaborations with popular producers. We have sounds from producers such as Mad Zach, Bass Kleph, Sonny Bass and many others. They are free for our customers, but these collaborations are not free for us.
We know that customers expect us to provide timely updates, different improvements and new features in addition to sound packs. We do try to satisfy our customers' demands and meet their expectations. For example, last year we've added such new features as Pad Editor and Feed, where everyone can upload his or her own sound pack for free. Storing these sound packs requires servers and we had to pay for them and for traffic. Code is never static, fixing bugs along is very costly. Many of them come due to OS updates that create issues. We must update our app regularly to support new OS versions.
Subscription is the way to support us so we can continue to develop the new features, update the app for each new OS version, deliver new sound packs from different producers, and provide customers with a convenient way to store their sound packs on our servers.
We hope it helps to understand why we think that the subscription-based model is fair both for developers and customers.
What about the subscription price: it can be changed in the future. We would appreciate it if you can share your opinion: how do you think what subscription price is fair?

This is the best app in the world and by far my favorite application in the AppStore. I highly recommend this app for all the young DJ's out there. And don't forget. Be The Party Hero.
