e-Sword X initially installs with the King James Bible and the King James with Strong's numbers study Bible, the Strong's Lexicon, Smith's Bible dictionary, F. B. Meyer devotional commentary, and the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge cross references. There are over one hundred additional Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, lexicons, reference books and devotionals that you can download and add to your library absolutely free!
Also available are some "locked" resources which must be purchased from their publisher. These are copyright and licensing requirements which are unavoidable.
Please note that e-Sword X is an *ENGLISH* release (but does include Spanish UI localization.) There are dozens of non-English Bibles available, but all other content is in English.

Best value for money
As a full-time pastor in a church, I have used e-sword as a program (and more recently as an app) for about 25 years, and while there are some very sophisticated (and expensive) bible programs out there, I have found e-sword able to serve all my needs simply and effectively. The interface is largely self explanatory, and provides quick and effective search function with several helpful filters, while ensuring simple and direct access to every part of scripture. The store provides reasonably priced translations and many commentaries and study notes which I have been able to build up over the years, and the notes/journalling functions allow for helpful interaction with the text. Highly recommended!
The best practical way on the Mac by far!!!
This app has been my go to for almost a decade. It is the best app for looking up scriptures and especially the Satong's concordance. A whole world will open up to you. This isn't a scimmed down version, that cares only about functionality but not actual usable content. This app focuses on usable content like adding concordances, many versions of Bible's and in many different languages from Afrikaans to Zulu. Great app! Also, I did have a problem with the app and the actual developer reached out to me quickly, never had that before!!!
Know the real thing
If you know the real thing you will spot the fake. The Word is the real thing, and to be able to study it, to get to know it, and the Author of it, is the BIGGEST privilege in the universe. This software is one of the many wonderful tools to assist with this growth process. My heartfelt thanks to Rick Meyers who took action with the talents that has been given to him.
