Description

Simple, elegant and powerful calculator for lightning fast input and results.

I am an electronic and software engineer. The calculator that I use most often on my Mac is spotlight. It is quick, simple and convenient but sometimes you need more. For this I need to open bulky tools or spreadsheets to get the job done. I’ve tried almost all the calculators in the store but none were as quick as I needed, or as powerful as I needed. It always seemed to trade off functionality for simplicity.

So engCalc was born. I’ve used it myself for more than a year, and keep on expanding it to suit my needs. I hope it works for you as well. It will keep on expanding without compromising simplicity and speed. Please let me know if there is something missing and I will try my best to add it.

Excellent!

Very intuitive interface with minimal key presses to obtain result. Easily mix different number bases. No shift key needed to select alternative key functions, simply slide key up or down. Alternative key functions could be displayed a bit brighter though. No equal sign either. Result appears immediately as you type.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. I hope that you will continue to enjoy EngCalc why I continue to make it better.
You are correct, the secondary key functions could be more readable. Version 4.3 contains UI tweaks to improve the contrast of the secondary key functions and also made the font slightly larger to improve readability. There is also a fix where the sqrt symbol did not display correctly.
