Privacy
We know the things that you type on your phone are personal, so we’ve designed Gboard to keep your private information private.
What Gboard sends to Google:
• Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results.
• Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to let us know which features are used most often and to help us understand problems if the app crashes.
• If you use Gboard’s microphone, voice input will be sent to Google for transcription.
What Gboard doesn’t send to Google:
• Other than your searches and voice inputs, Gboard doesn't send anything you type to Google, whether it’s a password or chat with a friend.
• To help you with spelling and to predict searches you might be interested in, Gboard will store the words you type on your device. This data is not accessible by Google or by any apps, and can be cleared at any time.
• If you’ve turned on contacts search in Gboard search settings, this allows Gboard to search the contacts on your device so that you can easily share. None of these queries is sent to Google.

One of the better one's
I've tried a few keyboards and this is one of the better one's. The prediction is not as good as that of the keyboard on my much loved sony experia, which in my opinion is the benchmark. It's ability to learn how I phrase and type was uncanny. One problem when I type in Afrikaans is that it cannot seem to learn thst an apostrophe can be part of a word. For example 'n is a frequently used word in Afrikaans. A big plus however for supporting the language.
Don't get this now
This used to be a 5 star review now for some reason the autocorrect on this app is ridiculous, it changes entire sentences and words when spelt correctly and I've spent more time correcting my sentences or straight up giving up and just not sending the message because this apps autocorect is on its own mission now, instead of correcting your mistakes it literally re-writes your entire sentence that often ends up meaning something completely different to what you were trying to say, like if you put the word "dissapate" in it will change it to "difficult" or "confuse" like I don't understand how it can get the word confused from dissapate but anyways, and it does this all the time and often when it changes one word it will change multiple words in a sentence so if I say “I'm going to the store” it will for example say “I'm staying by the phone” like I'm not even joking it does this and it's highly frustrating so I've deleted this app until you've fixed it. Serious thumbs down for this app now.
Excellent keyboard, very few criticisms
The overall look and feel of the board is brilliant. It seamlessly integrates functionality and customizability.
The settings, and intelligent predictive text allows the board to personalize itself it to my individual preference and comfort.
While the keyboard is creditable during the running of the app, the main issue lies with the transition from the standard keyboard to G-Board.
The app often force closes after not opening properly, automatically switching back the standard iPhone keyboard. It then requires a reboot of my phone to allow access to the keyboard again. This bug requires looking into.
Otherwise, I love it, and ultimately would highly recommend it to others looking for a keyboard that suits their personal style.
