Kindle 12+

Discovering Kindle has been a huge help for myself and my daughter during lockdown. I brought the first of the Neapolitan quartet with me to stay with her. We both read it and were aching for the second until I realized I can get Kindle on my iPad. Although I thought I’d never enjoy reading on an electronic device, I got used to it very quickly. Seeing my enjoyment, Lexi, yearning for the 2nd book decided to try even though her determination to avoid electronic reading was far greater than mine.
We are now both happily reaching the end of the last book in this quartet and she’s no longer cross with me for not packing more books to bring to our remote lockdown home.
She’s a fast reader and, now that she has time, her appetite for good books is voracious.
Thanks to Kindle, problem solved (except she’s desperate for her own kindle device now as she doesn’t want to read on her laptop and can’t keep purloining my trusty iPad; can’t buy a Kindle in the countryside). 📖

Wow! This was my first time reading a book with scary scenes like this one, I was on my toes most of the time. Sad story that started with young police woman that investigated multiple murders that left community scared as the serial rapist and murderer was at large. The risk she took uncovering the truth and investigating drug dealers leading to death of her son, unborn baby and sending her husband to a coma for over 6 months.

The book is about the power of spirits, the good and the bad spirits that surrounds us. In the book the crow is resembling bad spirits while doves good spirits. The book left me speechless because It left me hoping that the husband can be saved again but with this bad spirit (the crow) i doubt. How much more can a human being take when bad spirits are always lingering around

A very interesting read that deals with our beliefs depression, murder cases apartheid and faith. The real world that is surrounded by bad spirits, corruption and all. The book is well narrated just that sometimes suspense kills you while you turn on the page. Until the last sentence, i still have trust issues about the girls friend, Saige. Not sure why but something about her.

I didn’t like the end, wish there will be book2. I still want to know if she made it to her husband? What happened to the police force? If thats the real end then it all says Evil wins

I am a huge KA fan but I have been somewhat neutral on a few of her recent releases but this! This is complex and layered and emotional and will stretch your EQ. It is messy in the best way. Mika has a tragic history but is also a wise, strong woman. Tom…… a lot of people have a lot to say about Tom but this is where that EQ comes in. Things aren’t always black and white and sometimes redemption is a book away. We visited with previous characters from the River Rain series and were introduced to some new ones and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Remember we are all heroes and villains it just depends whose story you’re reading.
