2022 Harbour Fees
This municipal harbour is now being operated by the private business Samos Yacht Brokers - owner Tasos.
It is not clear under what authority this concession has been given.
Tasos’s “Port Assistants” take your lines whether you like it or not. When it comes to paying there seems to be a random calculation for Harbour fees, Electricity and water which are charged whether you use them or not (in other words obligatory) and then Tasos adds a commission of between 50% up to 150%. All this makes a night for a 35ft boat anywhere between 25-35€ per night. Samos Marina by comparison only charge 25€ per night and you get clean serviced ablution facilities and a fuel dock at the Marina included.
Tasos cannot explain in any rational way what services have actually been delivered for this exorbitant commission of between 10-15€ per day - other than his Port Assistant took you lines when you arrived.
This kind of private exploitation of yacht tourists will only kill the number the boat/nights at the Port and ultimately affect the revenue coming to the bars, tavernas, and mini-markets!
A must have app for Cruising
This app is an absolute win for cruising. The routing functionality and details about various anchorage’s is just so useful and gives absolute peace of mind when planning your next stop.
