NewsElect aims to create an innovative way to read news by alternating between articles of different political leanings. To encourage people to read across the political spectrum, NewsElect pairs up the latest progressive and conservative articles on the election.
NewsElect believes that news is not for one-time consumption. Good articles deserve to be revisited. In this spirit, NewsElect is designed to let people compare current articles to past articles to see how candidates' positions have changed.
No single news-bias rating system is perfect; that is why NewsElect includes bias ratings from two sources: Media Bias Fact Check and AllSides. For more information, please read NewsElect's Use of External Resources in the app.
NewsElect is not-for-profit. The funding comes from MiddChallenge, the Creativity and Innovation Program at Middlebury College. NewsElect gives special thanks to Middlebury's faculty, staff members and alumni.
