As someone who has explored various word processing programs, I can confidently say that Apple Pages stands in a league of its own. It has become my primary—and only—choice for creating documents, and I absolutely love using it!

I’ve used Pages for well over a decade, it’s always been brilliant. I think the original software engineers have left & a clueless bunch has taken over because they are breaking features with every update. The reduce files size & photo compression is broken since 14.1, it completely messes up the colouring of the photos & makes larger files sizes than before. I’ve sent Apple detailed feedback helpful & replicable comparisons between versions showing them the issues, I don’t think they care, it’s still broken in all subsequent updates. I have to keep Pages 14.1 just to be able to get my work done. Also .pdf creation now sometimes makes huge file sizes 5x the size of the .pages file for no reason. It was once an essential business tool for my quotations & proposals, I use it to make hundreds, if not thousands of documents every year, now it’s barely usable. It crashes all the time & I loose my content & have to rewrite it. All this nonsense is a massive time waster for me. IF IT AINT BROKEN, DONT FIX IT!!!! I’ve had it with Apple’s poor software quality control over the last few years, don’t even get me started on the bugs in macOS & iOS. Pretty much all Apple software of late is an absolute dumpsterfire!!!! I once enjoyed my Apple devices, now I have to restrain myself from throwing them out the window on a daily basis.

What message do you send when you write something?
Because I believe that beauty is also a message. It communicates you have taken care to craft something thoughtfully.
Pages should be the industry standard for word processing and page layout. the user interface is elegant and simple. It has lots of functionality, including mail merge and capable page layout.
The only thing I miss (and it's something I only need occasionally) is the ability to include landscape and portrait orientation pages in the same document.
It's an excellent product
