Redecor - Home Design Game 17+

Loved the game. Only bad aspect is the “client” gets to pick materials. I have had two situations where I didn’t own or have access to the stuff they picked, and the app does not allow substitutions. Many,many,many cases where you look at all the stuff submitted for voting and find 10 incredibly similar designs. No room for imagination, that you have to check in at the door. I have also had instances where a design will include one huge ghastly useless object. Currently it is either an enormous beanbag? Foot rest? Bizarre security device? Or something similar to a puzzle you would find in a Christmas Cracker. Two intertwined oval things and for some reason always knitted? You cannot erase them. Why anyone would choose to have a huge monument to bad taste circa 1970 I don’t know.

For me the final straw was when 100 hard earned tokens disappeared and then my fabulous winning design of a room in a clock tower failed to open my box of tricks.

Redecor told me to contact support. They said yes, they had a problem and I would get my design tokens and reward box back in 24 hours. This was 10 days ago. I now lay design star. At least they don’t rob me

I have been designing on Redecor for a few weeks now. Enjoying the game and layout of the game but very unhappy about the judging results. I know it’s just a game but the designers need to have a look at their judging part of this game. I know for a fact that some of my designs is really great and better than the group I was added to. Then from the start lying last. I don’t think the judging goes through the right process or are 100% fair. Especially with dual designs. Anyone by looking at a design can see which design stands out. I am the first to admit when my own design is not as good as another ones design... I am never in denial, but for the past 3 dual designs done, I know for a fact my designs stood out. From the start after about 30min of voting my design have the least percentage. I believe in fairness. If one persons design is good, give it to them but be fair with judging. I have been playing every day since I started but just because of this reason, I will not be playing this game so much anymore. My fiancée also plays and complain about same thing. He already stopped playing. I also read some other reviews and people complaining about the same thing. As I said, if another design is good..I am first to admit..but for sure some of my own designs stood out and was unique but still coming last or loosing the challenge (especially dual challenges). Just be fair with judging process. Please !

I love the concept of this game, but it is disproportionately expensive. Some challenges I can’t do because I have none of the ‘client picks’ unlocked. If you have some unlocked it’s usually 3-4 items only and you need to pick between these - so no creativity allowed. If you decide to buy unlocks; you get 3 RANDOM unlocks that you might not even like and it’s +-240 star tokens to unlock them. To give you an idea, 250 tokens cost $4.00 - when converting from my currency. $4.00 to unlock 3 items that you get to use 4-5 times and then need to spend +-2000 gold to buy another 4-5 uses (3000 gold is $2.00). Many items cost gold, if you don’t have enough you can only spend the normal in game currency which limits your options significantly. It seems like small amounts, microtransactions right. But in each item group there are 10-12 items that need unlocking. To unlock all the rugs in one challenge it costs you around $65 then you have only unlocked the rugs. Considering that when you buy an unlock; it unlocks 3 random things that you don’t even get to choose. - TL;DR: cool concept but waaaay to expensive to advance. Without spending the money options are so limited that you will almost never win because you can’t fully make a nice design and compete with people who do spend money. The tokens are also not easy to get - if you don’t make top 3, which you won’t, you get 4 tokens.
