SolarRebel
The App seems to have gone backwards with the latest update. Also no response from Growatt when requesting support for “dark mode”. And the balance between solar and grid use seems very unclear. Have no choice but to use it since it’s the only app for Growatt that I have found? Why there can’t be direct connection between devices is strange. Rather sent a weekly report to them. We, the owners of these units should be able to have real-time readings. I would rate it half a star at most
Basics there, could do more
This app is good for:
- Knowing whether you’re on grid or solar/storage
- Knowing how much power is coming from the panels
- Knowing how much power you’re drawing from the grid
Should be fixed with next update:
- Show an additional decimal point on the battery voltage. This is a critical and fine measurement with a narrow range.
Would be nice:
- Battery percentage based on current voltage and min and max ranges configured.
- Estimated charge time remaining and time till discharge based on current load
- Zoomable chart with ability to tap and see data points.
- Ability to configure the wifi upload interval. 5 mins is okay, but it’s pretty low resolution.
- Option for push notification when the battery is full or discharged, switching between grid and solar/storage
- Real-time query of the current load (make a button I press to ask the inverter stuff now)
- Real-time dashboard with sub second intervals (maybe even a separate dashboard app, even if it only works while on the same WiFi connection)
Issues with updated app
The app doesn’t show indicator to feed home as before. App doesn’t have the ability to reset data (should you want to reset data for a new month ). It would have been great if the app under could actually show u the time available on battery in respect of current load requirements. The line indicators showing the different source of energy are the same color, this a definite no no. I really hope you can make these adjustments. Regards
