In Snake Rivals, you tap to steer your snake towards tasty apples that’ll make it grow longer, but this colourful romp ups the stakes plenty with extra obstacles and rival players to dodge.
When you first spawn from an egg, you find yourself surrounded by giant reptiles of intimidating size. But with careful navigation and strategic use of power-ups – including fireballs and food-hoovering magnets – it’s not long before you’re one of the big beasts, slithering your way up the leaderboard.
It’s important to remember, however, that one false move can send you right back to zero.
As well as the familiar Classic mode, Gold Rush rewards the player who defeats rivals to pick up the most coin in three minutes, while Battle Royale is won by the last snake standing.
There are also various additional quests, and if snakes aren’t really your thing, you can remodel your reptile as a cute critter – or even a very, very long fire engine.
