A quicker start. Setting up your buddy is faster, and Buddy+ trials now come with a few helpful tips along the way. Also: clearer labels for where your captions come from, your buddy shows on the Lock Screen again, and the Share Captions buttons fit properly.

A steadier Buddy. This update fixes dozens of bugs across captions, saved conversations, sharing and Boost, and uses less battery during long sessions. Also new: better VoiceOver, Reduce Motion and contrast support throughout the app, fewer reminders when a session goes quiet, and asking Buddy for more ways to spell your name now finds new ones.

Still listening? If five quiet minutes go by, Buddy checks in on screen or with a notification, and keeps captioning until you say stop. Also new: a refreshed welcome the first time you open the app, a customize menu that opens every time, cleaner handling when your Enhanced Accuracy minutes run out (captions continue on your device), and a fix for the audio start notice on iPad.
