Files play as they are, straight from your library, with no server-side transcoding – including AV1, HEVC and high-bitrate originals. Faster starts, precise scrubbing with sprite-sheet previews, Picture in Picture and AirPlay. Transcoding only kicks in as a last resort when a format truly cannot play.
