I benefit hugely from time blocking but I’m also really bad at predicting when I can do things — things just always seem to come up. This app does all the work for me of figuring out if I have time, and when I need to get moving to meet my goals. It’s such a godsend for ADHD. I don’t like to-do lists because I can never tell if I’ve got enough time or energy to do it all — it’s just list items on a page. Time blocking helps with the duration of tasks, but then I feel imprisoned by a calendar. It’s like my whole life has been planned out and as soon as I miss a deadline I might as well give up because the schedule no longer matches reality.Re-evaluating and rescheduling tasks is quite demanding on executive function. Sometimes I can do it, sometimes it’s been a long day and I just don’t have it in me. When that happens I either freak out and treat every task as priority #1, or just give up and do nothing. Both suck. FlowSavvy does the time blocking thing, but arranges it for me. Being ahead or behind of schedule is no longer a bad thing since I can just click the magic button. I also gradually learn how long things really take and can adjust my estimates next time. It’s also great for IBNU tasks — important but not urgent. I put them in, estimate them, and it tells me when’s a good time to do it. It helps me schedule the dishes, work, watering my plants, doing laundry, filling out forms, everything. This app literally just gives me a “take the stress away” button and I can’t thank it enough for that. Worth every cent.
