Folks, do not be alarmed by the negative reviews. I use lightroom on a regular basis, and having it obtained through Mac App store instead of Creative Cloud just means one less app running in the background. I hope Adobe brings Photoshop also to the Mac App Store when the bring it to the iOS and iPadOS app stores. Regarding the other viewers who have provided negative reviews…the desktop version costs money. Monthly it’s about $10 USD. The free version (which is limited in terms of features) is available on the iOS store and while the free version will help you organize your photos in a catalog, the edit functions are disabled. However, if you’re subscribed to Lightroom, then all desktop, smartphone, tablet, web…all are included in that price and all come with full functionality!
Be warned

This is not a complaint about the product but abput the payment plans. I signed up for the monthly payment option as a student, and after the school semester was over I went to cancel my subscription and there was a substantial cancellation fee *that was not mentioned when I signed up for the plan*. They outline it very clearly when you're trying to cancel your subscription, though (and yes, it may have been outlined in one of the hundred page subscription agreements somewhere, but they know people don't read those things fully and it is a predatory business practice to hide something so substantial in the fine print). So, for your knowledge before you sign up: after 14 days you are required to pay for half of the total annual cost of the subscription if you have the monthly plan, and if you have the annual plan there is no possible refund after 14 days. Keep this in mind if you're just signing up for a couple weeks or a couple months.

The reject filter is now more accurate at identifying images that should be discarded across a range of scenarios and includes a new slider which gives you greater control over how strictly exposure issues are flagged.
Edit in Photoshop Improvements
Work seamlessly with your largest Photoshop documents. You can now specify file type, bit depth, and other parameters for the files that you send to Photoshop and save different defaults for HDR and SDR photography.
Pan and Zoom in Crop
Now pan and zoom while in the Crop tool, allowing you to position the crop bounds with precision.
PSB File Support
Lightroom now supports the PSB file type, making it easier to import and work with very large Photoshop files.
More Quality Updates
Experience faster, smoother performance when editing photos with large masks. Additionally, Presets and Profiles, Distraction Removal, Lens Blur, and other masking operations run more smoothly, helping you stay in your creative flow.
Working closely with Sony, we added support for the new Compressed (HQ) and Compressed RAW formats introduced with the Sony A7V.
